MVNO Gold - The MVNO Rules

MVNO Gold - The MVNO Rules; 20 years of MVNO experience; the essential principles and facts of MVNO success or failure that have not changed

MVNOs come and go, but some things have remained the same since working on the first MVNOs in the world. This will be a weekly or monthly release now, so be sure to subscribe by email on the right or follow us on fb, twitter or G+, etc.

The MVNO Gold Rules

Rule #1 - Keep it Simple

You would think it would be easy, but it seems not, failing simple this is the major cause of failed MVNOs

Complexity and delays not only is a major failure factor in the MVNOs that get to market, but its also the reason MVNO projects fail, and why many never will even get there in the first place. Read the full MVNO Rule #1 here

Rule #2 - Own the Customer

Owning the customer means owning the customer experience across the whole user journey

Rule #3 - Launch Date is non Negotiable - Launch already!

Have a Hard Launch Date, as early as an MVP possible and Stick to it - MVNO Gold Rules

It used to be a lot easier in the past; with full MVNOs the test window with the MNO could close and take weeks or months to access again, to name but one. However in the new cloud based world its all so flexible and easy that its easy to just keep slipping another month, but I have noticed that with this the number of failed MVNO, that is the ones that never make it to market. MVNO GOLD #4 SHIP DAILY

BEING TRUE TO THE MINIMUM VIABLE PRODUCT IN MVNO; SHIPPING DAILY, EVALUATING WEEKLY, PLANNING MONTHLY

This Image from a former Chief Data Scientist of the white house came up in my Linkedin stream and serves pretty much as a catalyst to an article that has been in draft for a while on this blog, so here goes as it is very, very relevant to the MVNO mode

Rule #5 at the end of the day its all about loyalty, so play to that, not "how we do it in mobile"
